MARTIAL ARTS

For Kids

Martial arts for kids takes a very different approach. As instructors we have different goals and expectations for our young students, and we work hard to instill the character and discipline necessary for a good person and a great martial artist.

About Our Kids Martial Arts

We begin our kids martial arts at the age of 7. From that age onward, kids can join our classes and we continue to build the foundation of character already begun at home. While learning physical skills our kenpo kids will become safer, stronger, and more confident. Through a structured curriculum steeped in traditional etiquette, they will learn a mindset of humility, respect, and discipline that is needed in today’s world.

For our youngest kids we use different exercises, drills and games to develop listening skills and self-control, while having as much fun as possible. For older kids the focus is more on developing character through physical and mental discipline, practical techniques, and of course fun too!

Parents play a key role in their kids’ martial arts journey and development. It’s important to understand that kids will pick up values and habits from the people and environment with which they spend the most time. One or two kenpo classes per week can influence a child, but will do nothing significant for them unless these values and habits are reinforced at home!
